Medium grey or dark grey is generally the most versatile colour and the colour you want for your first hat.

Yes, charcoal would be less versatile than a mid grey.

Thank you! I placed my order for a charcoal hat yesterday. However, after a shower and a lot of thinking, I decided to call them and switched to a navy. I think grey is kinda boring to me, plus I have one crappy charcoal hat that I hate so that color reminds me of bad things.

I decided to go true navy this time. Next time I'll go for some royal blue.

Btw, it's pretty hard to find scarves to go with navy hats and/or coats. There are many beautiful navy scarves but it doesn't provide the contrast. I'll probably try to find some burgundy or silver/light blue next time I have a chance to the store.
