are you supposed to measure the circumference around your belly button or like near your hip bones or above your belly button? for jeans ofcourse.

why do most ppl measure around belly button, when most don't even wear their pants up that high?

I may be mistaken, but I believe the correct region to measure is two inches below the navel.

Measure where you want to wear your pants I guess...?
It was my understanding that two inches down from the belly button was generally accepted as a regular-ish rise. I wear most of my jeans low, so the top of the waistband is around 3-3.5 inches below the belly button.
