You know what makes me feel good? I look better than he does. Yes, he is a millionaire by now but my clothes and body are better. It is a consolation in a way. Lol

When I was in my 20s, went thru the same thing. I had friends that were always starting some venture and always wanted me along. I stuck with my career with one company for 20 years and did well enough, but a couple of them are really did make it. But yeah, when people ask "who was that guy?" and I say they're my age, people freak. One's completely gray and gained a ton of weight, the other has the health issues of a serious drinker, and both worked years of 80-hour weeks to get there. It takes a toll.

If you guys don't mind slightly changing the topic, how about, what can you guys see yourself doing now to make sure that you don't regret in the future? As well as what you could have done better in the past.

I'm pretty young right now and this insight would be amazing. :)

as a management/sales professional and not an inventor, it is a gamble if the company you go with will be a success or not.

I don't regret anything. I admire them, but i'm also a competitive person.. so I use their success and frame it in a way that lets me know that anything is possible. Don't beat yourself up over the success of others. There will always be guys that are more rich, better looking, have gorgeous significant others, et cetera. But what works for me is ignoring all the noise and letting those comparisons become causes/reasons to believe that that kind of reality is achievable, and that it's all up to you to cultivate what you need to succeed.

If you beat yourself up too much over being jealous about others, then you'll never focus on yourself. So don't chase money -- chase rigorous self-improvement and find a field where you can play to your strengths. Build your strengths to a point where you become scarce. Then you can have anything you want.
