He'll make a great Deadpool. Perfect for that part. Green Lantern is going to be an epic disaster.

I should follow that up by stating that I've been waiting for over a decade for a good Green Lantern movie to be made. I'm not a follower of the comics, but with the widespread use of CG, the popularity of comic book movies, and the amazing powers of the green lanterns, I can't for the life of me figure out why it has taken so long for one to get made. And now they've cast Ryan Reynolds. I hope like hell I'm wrong, but I do not see this ending well at all...at least, not for my tastes.

The problem is that movie studios don't make comic book movies for comic book readers. Dark Knight, IMO, was the first movie to ever "get it right" in most respects to the hero and villian. Iron Man, while it gets a lot of hype for visuals, lets me down in the story. Spider Man 3 was actually pretty good too now that I think about it.

I seriously hope not, that looks stupid. Plus the CGI mask, they should just put a real mask on him. Something like this but in the GL style would have looked much better.

But I'm not a comic book reader. I'm a movie fan. I love action, but I really abhor the over-the-top action and CG that try to make up for thin plots, sloppy dialogue, and ridiculous storylines that plague so many comic book movies.

Moore's perspective, on the other hand, provided a more even-handed approach by examining both sides of V's anarchy and the government's facist state. It's one of the components that I thought made the graphic novel so good; you could actually see both points of view.

Not a bad movie in and of itself but I really could have done without the Wachoskies telling me where my moral conscience needs to stand when it comes to social issues. First rule of writing: show, don't tell.

Preaching aside, I think V for Vendetta is a great example of a comic book adaptation for non-comic readers. It established the main plot and theme of the comic without bogging down watchers with little details they wouldn't fully understand. It certainly piqued my interest enough to sit down and read the trade paperback.

+1.

...And what the hell is going on with that Thor pic? I was never a fan of the comic, but seeing Odin and Loki makes it look really hokey.
