What happened?

There were streaks down the legs. I’m assuming it’s detergent, probably washed them by accident as I always specify to dry clean only. I brought them back to have them fix it and it’s a little better but some streaks are just very faded now. They said they just dry cleaned it over and over tons of times :/

Yeah. What can I do? Anything? I’m assuming there’s some clause dry cleaners have that doesn’t hold them responsible
I rarely wash my JE denim but when I do its always cold gentle wash w/ woolite dark. Hang dry.

On the topic of washing. I actually rarely dry clean and mostly just wash them, cold and hang dry ofc. But afraid to wash my scarabs because of the paint splatters. Did anyone wash their scarabs and could tell me if all paint stayed?

It's best avoid washing denim if possible, but that's not practical, especially if you have a go-to pair you beat the hell out of.

After years of experimenting, I've found it's best to cold-soak in a bucket or tub with a little detergent. No need to rub or ring the denim out. Instead, swoosh it around while submerged. Let the shower flow over the denim to rinse. Repeat until the water becomes clearer. I've done it to Nero's, Coba's, and Scarabs, and many other raw denim jeans that I used to wear before I started rockin JE. There's no damage or fading with this method, and stretched-out fabric recovers using this method.

But if you must use a machine, use a front-load.

This. Everyone spills stuff on their denim or gets it dirty from time to time and it's normal to wash. I just use a front load washer, gentle cycle with cold water and woolite dark, and hang dry. Never had an issue with any pairs.
