Yeah, it fits a lot more people than the CN, but it's still slim. My personal pair was built up to be extra-wide (size 12 width on 11.5 length) and it's still tight in there.

Sock reccos:
Thicc sox - Black Sign BS Fit Boot Socks - Black, Old Brown, Olive Drab
Skinny sox - Clinch - Long Hose Socks - Brown Rib, Mixed Rib, Black Jersey (thinnest one)

I just submitted an order for the Black Signs. Glad to confirm they're on the thicc side.

@StrangeJeremy Would it be fair to say the Clinch CN is more of a C width and CN-Wide more like a D? Is their horsebutt begin rather stiff or is it more pliable when new? I’m still tempted to try Clinch again at some point since I mis-sized my first pair a few years ago. Have a few more pairs on the list before that time comes but sizing correctly is the main deterrent.

I would mostly go along with that regarding width. They also have a low / tight instep so sizing can be tricky.

The horsebutt is pretty pliable but not soft, if that makes sense.

Based on one trip to the grocery, these Lofgrens are great with appropriately-thick socks.

I think should I ever foray into getting another pair and was considering at the Clinch tier, I would just go custom with Brian the Bootmaker at that point. Although the CN does sound more appropriate to my foot for a non-thick-sock wear.

That said, I am not lining up to get another pair any time soon.

Are the Engineers hard to pull on? I have only tried a pair of Viberg Engineers and they were near impossible to get on and a struggle to take off.

They're harder to get on for me, although my socks do come off when the boots do (I'm not using a boot jack). But really I only have an issue with my left foot, which is about a quarter inch longer and fits the instep differently. I use a long shoe horn at the heel and with 1-2 minutes effort I can get them on. The right pops on pretty easily, with the shoe horn in place.

From the start, my Wescos (Mr. Lou and Boss 7500s) only took seconds to put on and take off, without the need for a shoe horn. My first Lofgren engineers arrive this Friday, so I'll let you know how those go -- maybe my experience with those will be entirely different.

While I have wide-ish feet (E width), I have standard instep height, calves on the thinner side of average, and very flexible ankles.

I think for any given boot it's going to vary quite a bit from person to person.

My Role Club Engineers were a goddamn struggle to get on in the start, now it takes a second. I use a boot jack though to take em off.
