What's the difference between Urban Slim Fit and 484 Slim Fit?

Still trying to figure out sizing on the vintage marled fleece. I am 5'10 165lbs. Will medium be ok?

Question about J Crew and their sizing. Is it just me, or do they have a "weird" sizing in the sense that the clothes they have are REALLY small on the shoulder. I think their "small" shirts/outerwear is about 15-15.5 inches across the shoulder, or something. Seems like for me to be able to wear their stuff I need to go up to "medium" in order to get a shoulder length of ~17-18 inches, at which point the clothes I'm wearing falls down on me like a waterfall. Can anyone else confirm that their clothing style is really short on the shoulder?

For some reason their website does not list the shoulder length of any of their clothing, only the chest size =/ I fit their small perfectly on the body, except for the fact that the shoulder is way too small.

Actually I think it's quite the opposite.

JCrew is one of the very few mass-market retailers whose small shirts provide me with enough room in the shoulders.

A lot of the sizing makes no sense at all really. I have medium shirts that are a bit tight in the chest but are way, way loose around my midsection, and have something like 6+ inches of extra fabric across the back that just doesn't need to be there. They actually flare out from the chest down, rather than taper in. Makes no sense at all. Who is shaped like this?

Yep!!shoulders always too tight. I was going for mediums for a while but the arms were so freaking baggy. Have smalls now but have to try on each and every piece cause of their lame shoulder problems. Some fit Many don't. Or the pit is too tight or the chest is too tight. Ugh they have such good shirts but their sizings really off

I LOVE their polos and cardigans, but I don't want to buy them now, because I won't pay full price retail, and I can't take advantage of their labor day sale because I don't know the measurements of the stuff they sell

Buy what sizes you think should work. It's J. Crew, it won't destroy the bank. And if it doesn't fit put it in B&S, the brand is popular enough that it will most likely sell there.

Haha indeed. This is why the typical American brand fits so baggy on a relatively slim body.

I do like the design of some of their shirts though. Prices are decent for the quality. Just gotta spend the extra $15 to bring the width and sleeves in or else it looks horrible.

Anybody know how the fleece crewneck sweatshirts and longsleeve henleys fit? I'm 6'0, 175lb, 41.5" chest, about 18.5" shoulders... should I be going with M or L? Maybe Tall?

I can only wear their size small, that is, if that particular style has "standard" shoulder size of around 17-18 inches for a small. I tried a cardigan on the store that was 17.5 inch across for a small, but after browsing their other offerings online I found out that many of them are only 15.5 inches in length. So now I don't think I want to buy anything from J Crew without first either trying it on or knowing the exact shoulder measurements =/ I don't know, maybe I should just buy their medium and have it tailored down so it fits. Are there any brands out there that are similar to J Crew in cut/style/feel/price but whose sizes are not...average American sizes ?
