It tastes like rotten licorice.

Jagerbombs bring to mind awful frat parties characterized by sweat- and piss-stained cheap carpet, and the lingering smell of stale vomit in the air.

I didn't know that people actually liked the stuff. But their success probably had something to do with their incredibly successful campaign of sending supper hot girls in tight clothing or bikinis out to bars to promote Jager nights in the late 70's. It was brilliant. Second only to K2 tshirt night where the winning contestant usually doused herself in a pitcher of beer then ripped it off.

I've been waiting hopefully for years that the Jager fad would pass. I'm starting to think as long as there are frat boys and Jersey Shore folks, Jager will be with us.

I vaguely recall drinking it on a few occasions in college, but for the life of me I cannot recall any taste to it - which is kind of weird.

I come from a very German (my mom is second gen and my dad is first gen Americans to give you an idea!) family, Sauerkraut, Spaten and Jagermeister were staples in my family.

Möge dir dein Weg leicht werden
Möge dir der Wind immer von hinten kommen
Möge dir die Sonne warm ins Gesicht scheinen
Möge dir ein sanfter Regen auf die Felder fallen
und bis wir uns wiedersehen
möge Gott dich in seiner Hand halten!

Jägermeister is an abomination when consumed as anything but a digestif, in which case it is merely awful.

Also, few things convey the ugly message of the perpetual American frat-boy as effectively as a discussion regarding the merits of this beverage.

I haven't had Jager in a while, but I love amaro. Nonino is my favorite, but Ramazotti is really the only one I can get my hands on outside of a restaurant around here.
