I had a bittersweet moment today when the Vass I ordered about 6 weeks ago arrived earlier than expected. They are truly beautiful. Unfortunately, my wife got me a pair of EG/RLPL Mackays in Dark Oak for Christmas and these are very similar in color, brown boxcalf. So, alas these Vass are up for sale.

There are some tweaks I specified which make these a very unique pair of Oxford Medallions.

1)I substituted Vass' Italian Oxford medallion for the standard Ram's Head medallion.
2)I added brogueing at the seems (rather than plain stictch)
3)Asked them the trim the welt closer to the upper than they normally do and so in this case they look more akin to a pair of Edward Green as far as the relationship bewteen the upper leather and outer sole.

Size is 42.5. I wear a 9/9.5 D in Edward Green for RLPL on the 888 last and a these fit very similarly. I also wear a US 9 in C&J for Polo on the 337 last and an 8.5 UK E in John Lobb on the 8000 last.

Shoes include lasted trees, shoe bags and Vass box. Asking to just get back what I paid. $775 incuding shipping.

These are now for sale (instead of interest check). Please feel free to ask any questions. The Vass U is a beautiful thing. They are unbelievable in person.

Aside from your dilemma about the shoes, you obviously chose the right wife!

Now these are quite the B&S find, I'd grab them if they were my size. Wonderful taste.

Bittesweet for me too as these unfortunately are not my size. Cannot imagine you are not keeping them.

jeskali, it's pretty easy to justify it in my opinion. 1)for regular suit wearers, you will get more use and life out of these shoes than any suit for the same price. 2)for irregular suit wearers like myself, i get much more use out of these on a daily basis, as I wear each pair about once a week. since we've rationalized it, you can now paypal me
