How to pair a Blackwatch Blazer?

Hello dear reader!

I am writing here in need of advice.

I have recently acquired a beautiful double-breasted Blackwatch blazer. The buttons are plain, dark grey. I assume it is correct to wear this blazer with dark grey (charcoal) pants, for a more cocktail, evening look, but what other options might there be? Is it acceptable to pair them with medium or light grey trousers, like one would a navy blue blazer? Are beige/tan/khaki pants ok with it (again, as with a navy blazer)? I've seen some people even pairing Blackwatch blazers with navy pants.

I'd love your opinions and feedback. Maybe there is even some nifty rule that would settle the matter, more or less.

Yours,

Sebastian

To me a blackwatch DB jacket is too formal for khakis but try it out for yourself!
Safe choices would be dark or medium grey trousers, or navy trousers. As a holiday outfit maybe burgundy.

I would stick with greys - I have gone both near-charcoal and mid grey on occasion with mine
