How to clean the outside of wool outerwear? (and a small PSA)

I have a J. Crew wool coat (on sale for $99!) that is definitely not worsted or anything. It's pretty rough/coarse, and picks up cat hair and the like very easily.

Those sticky rollers do nothing for the cat hair on my coat. What do you use to get hair and stuff off of these kinds of wool coats?

ok, they work well with even rough/non-worsted wools? this is something I have been considering, since it has a clothes brush on it: http://www.josbank.com/IWCatProductP...duct_Id=166686
