They were so bad for so long that I stopped watching. Now, they can't lose.
And they're finally drawing people to the ballpark. I heard they expect close to sellouts for the next week.

tigers may be playing their little hearts out, but they can't seem to lose the white sox.

which is to say, if they start to cool, and sox don't, tigers will fade.

even if they're still good enough to lead in another division.

it sux to have two top teams in the same division. losses are magnified and wins just keep you in place.

And the wild card means we don't even get a good pennant race out of it

The next two weeks will be telling: New York, Boston, and the dreaded White Sox.

Nothing excites a city like a good ball team. Detroit is a baseball town when the tigers are decent. I don't know how long they can keep it up, but we know what to expect from them-usually a bad season. They are not frauds like the Wings are!!!

i've been to a few games earlier in the season, and even then, when they were behind the chisox, they were packed. im going to a game today and friday.. so i'll report back on how packed they feel now that they are squarely at the top of the game.

I went this past sunday, and despite the heat, the place was packed. Recomendation- Park in Greektown Casino's parking garage and walk the 4 or 5 blocks to the park. If you go in the casino and get your parking ticket validated its free, and way better than paying 10 to 20 bucks at any of the other places.

I was there last Friday and it was definitely packed. The only empty seats I could see were in the mezzanine along right field.

This certainly works. I don't think I've ever paid to park in Detroit. It's probably the easiest city to park in. So much free street parking or unenforced metered parking. I generally find a spot right between Greektown and Comerica on the street which is central to just about anything I'd be doing in downtown Detroit.

BTW, the stadium was rocking last night.. unfortunately the Tigers couldn't pull it off in extra innings. Definitely a great turnout for a Tuesday night came with rain forecasted.

At last! A victory over the Evil Empire. And, we are still the best in baseball. (Thank you, O Lord!)

Now, if the Pistons can perform some kind of miracle tonight...

Ya.. tonite I am torn in all kinds of directions.

1) I want the Tigers to lose (I'll be at the game tonite rooting for my Red Sox)
2) I was just at a Tigers game rooting for the Tigers. Weird.
3) I want the Pistons to win, and I want to watch the game, but I'll be watching the Red Sox.

Damnit.
