along with all of his neats?
yes, its bad with the trousers. outside of a midnight dinner jacket, and maaaaaaaaybe with the right gray SC, i see no use for black dress pants in MC.

when i say it could work, i mean with the right hue of gray trousers and a light blue shirt OCBD or spread collar with a proper tie.

Okay fair enough. Do you think it looks objectively bad or just in a CM context? (Would it be okay if I wore it with black denim and a white shirt and more obviously casual accents/accessories?) I think it looks good personally but my tastes are only developing.

The Vegas comment a interesting I thought I'd follow up on it, since I'm trying to become a more regular poster (thanks for all the advice so far).

My work is usually at night and brings me to casinos, clubs, and those kinda of places with bright flashing lights and that kind of thing, so the Vegas comment is kind of relevant. Obviously just because you're in Vegas doesn't mean you need to dress in a caricactural clown suit people might picture people in Vegas wear, but I feel like the context is still relevant. I certainly would not dress like this if I have an office job with more conservative dress codes.

I'm not saying I can't dress more conservatively, and in fact I find myself gravitating towards SF standards, but I think I'm in a unique position to have some more variation so might as well.

Iso, I think the electric blue jacket works fine for the context you've described. Go forth and prosper.

That is some sprezzy awesomeness. I don't know how you rocked this look, but you did.
I'm wearing that kind of clothes every day, you're right for the length of the trousers but I like to have it like an accordion, for the shirt the exact color is dark brown an orange stripes on withe (sun was really hard) and I think I forget to shut a button.
Anyway I'm working in shoe business in France and in US East coast so people have to see me and It's take me a long time to find all this vintage jacket. But the pattern the quality and the shape are better than a lot of clothes from now.
It's my way to find my own style mixing vintage and new as an antiques collectionneur, by today a women in hotel was thinking I was Italian.
I'm happy to share with you my whatever you will call it.

Thank you for you interest

I'm soooo happy this thread isn't broken anymore. :)

Clags, congrats on you and your epic suit front and center of #4!

Breinin is before my time but he indeed looks awesome. NickP pulls off relaxed tailored clothing in a way I only wish I could. gdl teaches me that bright ties can work and I intend to learn how. Tira always looks good. SB, I love the minimal palette and square/tie relationship.

Good stuff today, guys!

Put those shoes on a suya grill (marinade and spices optional) and walk away barefooted.

Don't mention his (Nana's) shoes man! I only just talked him down off the ledge from the last time.

What's that?

*cough* No Tira, you look maaahvellous. Now how about some ice cream?

I thought you were told to stop wearing your pointy houseshoes, Tira. OBEY!

The "houseshoes" in question are, apparently, a pan-African thing - every leather shop I saw in Marrakesh ( a far stretch from Lagos) this winter had them, and apparently yellow is the most common color for men.

SILENCE! Enough of your cultural relativism!
