Another outing for this light grey suit, but this time with dark brown instead of black shoes. I think light grey can work with both. Maybe next time, burgundy?

Won't pretend to know what would look best. I just know this looks fantastic. All of it. From lapels to cuffs.

New shirt (Proper Cloth, light blue end-on-end, “President” collar) and tie (Shibumi Shantung silk, recommended by Claghorn—thanks again, Mr. C). Old silk/linen blend sport coat.

Cheers,

Ac

Thank you, @JapanAlex01 ! But, I think there are a few fits in here that are on par or better. I admit, though, I have the best setting.

Far too many fits in here have way-too-obviously garish pocket square/tie combos (since when did neon colours go with muted naturals? Never). I live in the UK--where did you pick up that suit? :)

Can't say I agree with this, k. Fit is obviously very important, but many other posters are hauled up for skimpy collar points, incongruent PSs and ties (the formal/informal, city/country, daytime/evening 'sliders,' etc.).

I noticed those things, but gave a thumbs up simply because it was his first post and wanted to welcome him. Thumbs don't always mean that someone likes the outfit, which is why the 20+ thumbs thread is a little flawed if you want to know which outfits are best. We have discussed this problem of thumbs measuring things besides whether someone likes the fit, and concluded that thumbs up were the only objective measure available. Still, because of the aforementioned problems with thumbs, the curated thread is much more interesting than the 20+ thread.

Trousers tad too short. Too much linen--use cotton shirt, IMO. PS is quite garish.

Thanks for the critique. Garish was exactly what I was going for, although I did tuck it in a little more after taking the picture. I never knew there was something as too much linen/any fabric, but isn't that decided by practicality? Or is there a certain rule I'm not aware of? Either way, it was an extremely humid day, which is why I was happy I was wearing so much linen. A cotton shirt would've made me sweat significantly more.

It's a Luigi Bianchi suit. Bought it on Yoox last year. They haven't got the exact one I bought, but I can't see any differences between mine and this one (which is a great deal if you ask me).

I think it looks great, except the pant length.

No such thing as too much linen. Ever.
