General question: does anyone have a recommendation for a good cream silk pocket square? My usual suspects don't seem to sell 'em. Kent Wang has a cream satin square, but that is not what I'm looking for really, too shiny.
Any suggestions?
I think the color works, but I'd go for a chambray/denim instead. That fabric - based on the pictures - looks more like a classic poplin or something equally dressy.Dark dress shirts will always cheapen an outfit when worn with a suit and tie.
I stay away from them and reserve them for casual looks.

Yesterday I returned to one of my favourite London venues for meetings and events, the rather quirky Imperial Hotel.
Did you stay there? I see it includes English breakfast. Is it a good one? Odes have been written extolling the virtues of a fine British fry up. Dont believe me?
Now blessed be the Briton, his beef and his beer,
And all the strong waters that keep him in cheer.
But blessed beyond cattle, and blessed beyond kegs
Is the brave British breakfast of bacon and eggs.
Thus armed and thus engined, well shaven and gay,
We leap to our labours and conquer the day,
While paltry, pale foreigners, meagre as moles,
Must crawl through the morning on coffee and rolls.
Forgive the digression from the pursuit of sartorial splendour.
I did go through the morning on a ‘continental breakfast ‘ myself!

Not sure I’d wear chambray cotton with a dressy wool or tweed jacket. Quite incongruous to my mind.
And certainly not with a necktie. But I get your point nonetheless.

I think they look great. Balmoral brogues are so versatile in my humble opinion. Details?@Alan Bee it's always good to get feedback. Thank you for your suggestion.
Yes, these shoes are fairly light-coloured (not blonde as such, they are described by Loake as 'Chestnut').
I have indeed tried different browns with the trousers including dark brown calf and reverse calf, as you recommend. These old brogues perhaps work as well as any:
