Dennis - I like what you wear a lot, however having read your explanation, I've thought about it, and looked at a number of your fits where you do this, and decided that in no case is the fit improved by wearing the tie in between the lapels of the DB jacket. In fact, in every case, the fit would be improved by adopting the conventional way of doing things.

What is this madness about button-down collars not going with Italianate jackets?

I have no idea. It's exactly what I'm doing today and what I do a whole lot.

@claghorn

You make me laugh. My tailor fitted a wedding dress before me '--- thus the ladies shoes. Thanks for the feedback.

I think Elio made a comment about that particular button-down combined with that particular Italianate jacket.

Also, Cox, I like memes as much as (perhaps more than) the next guy, but I would be ever so grateful if you could refrain from posting memes with hateful racial slurs. Even with whimsical spellings, they aren't particularly whimsical to me.

This jacket makes me feel like I'm a Muppet. Click to zoom first pic for Muppet-y texture goodness.

Blending my eccentric street with my formal.

Sweatshirt by Balmain (the real deal - not that H&M bull)
Shirt by Borrelli
Tie by Bulgari
Pants by Armani (Collezioni)
Bluchers by Brooks Brothers
Cuffs are vintage sterling.

Am I an oddball or what?

While it's obviously a matter of personal taste, the thought of wearing a hoodie with a tie (no matter its price tag) makes me cringe.

That said, the thought of wearing a hoodie anywhere except the gym gives me the heeby jeebies
