1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Haha, yeah I think maybe I knew that, but you're still here, right? Nonetheless, there is a certain amount of charm in your rude and offensive brusque commentary, and as you point out, you do have a fairly good eye for determining what does & doesn't work, and why. Sometimes better a thumb in the eye rather than one more in the box in order to fulfill some hopeful sycophant's dreams of entering the WAYWRN hall of fame, eh?

Really like the new framing Spoo. Gives a better idea of the pants-jacket interaction.

this highlights one of the most difficult to accept lessons of the styleforum, but probably one of the most valuable. totally true, fit HAS to come first. too many cases in point to mention, but among them the great looks of suitsupply vs. boxy aged Polo sportcoats, or Kiton jackets/ suits that look schlumpy. This is one of the reasons I'm selling a lot of stuff in a week or two, and sticking to the rule of fit first.

More linen-wool. I generally really love blends. My favorite ties are those that are silk-linen. Pocket squares wool-silk. Fabric wool-linen.

I have said this before and I will say it again...

You do NOT have to post a fit pic to share your opinions on fits posted on the internet.

Doesn't matter if I like their opinions or not.

Doesn't matter if they are shitty dressers in fact.

To be fair you did state that you were not familiar with any of pB's fits. It is difficult to believe that you have been on the forum for a while if that is the case.

Too much arguing for me on a Tuesday morning. But there are some interesting points raised, namely about people giving feedback. I feel it is somewhat important to know that they know what they are talking about, and that makes it easier to accept their comments. I wouldn't go around criticising the likes of Spoo or Timo or others who clearly know what they are doing, but I feel its OK for me to point out things about "younger" members than I - and where applicable (like that ghastly shiny yellow tie from yesterday).

As for our young friend's Ted Baker tie, it *is* very much a "thing" - those kinds of OTT designs. They fit in a certain world, but for the most part they are going to dealt with negatively here. I have been on the receiving end of that a few times, as I do have the odd OTT Canali / Duchamp / and yes, Ted Baker tie, but then the next day I'll post a more muted fit and get all-round approval. So you pick your battles, basically.

There's taking risks to be idiosyncratic, but you either pull it off or you don't - the trick to being an expert at this sort of thing is knowing when you've pulled it off.
