I just happened to view this Fall's Hickey Freeman trunk sale at a local men's store. There are many excellent fabrics to view--more than in previous years. If there is a H-F trunk show in your neck of the woods, I encourage you to take a look.
I had no intention of doing this, but I ordered a suit with a wool/cashmere blend fabric. Gray herringbone. A classic design. 3 button, SB. (Canterbury) Side vents. Ticket pocket. Vest with lapels. Surgical buttons. Natural shoulders.
I have never owned a herringbone suit. Among the many outstanding fabrics and patterns on display, this one really stood out. Because of its "functionality", it can be augmented with an unending array of shirts, links, ties, pocket squares. It should be a versatile addition to the wardrobe. It will take about 8 weeks. I'm excited.
Last year, I ordered a H-F DB suit, and I have not been disappointed. The fit, comfort, and style of the H-F suit compare very favorably to an Oxxford that I have.
Again, the trunk show is worth your time. But beware. I told myself, upon entering the store, that I was not going to buy a suit. Couldn't help myself.
