I'm clearing out my wardrobe and stumbled upon an Aquascutum coat; as far as I remember, my grandma gave it to me unworn around 1995-2000, no idea when she bought it. I never wore it either and think it should be worth selling.
The problem is, I didn't find anything quite like this when searching for it with google, on ebay or the Aquascutum shop; their Filey coat looks similar, but has different materials, and everything on ebay is well worn.
I'd be really grateful for any additional information. Is Aquascutum still worn or does everyone want Burberry now? Are the older or newer coats more sought after? Maybe even some coat crack sees this and is able to approximate the value.

Welcome to the forum, B You might want to try asking here http://www.styleforum.net/t/9006/the-official-thrift-discount-store-bragging-thread. The thrift guys are really helpful with identifying stuff and giving price recs.

That's a classic Balmacaan Raincoat in treated cotton. It is equivalent
to Burberry in price and quality. Because cotton is not as "waterproof"
as blends ,it has largely been replaced by the latter. I am old enough to
have worn that type of coat, but not in black. Since it is in effect "brand new"
it should be worth several hundred dollars, which is more or less what it cost 20 years ago.
