Help me pick between the GG Grant, CJ Weymouth, CJ Aintree, and the RLPL Grant

Hey, So I have some money saved to get one of the four following:

GG Grant
CJ Weymouth
CJ Aintree
RLPL Grant

Is the Weymouth a more practical shoe than the GG Grant?
Where can I get another RLPL Grant?

Which of the three wholecuts would you recommend in style, fit, practicality?

Which one of these four is more essential to a shoe collection?

All fine shoes, but not all the same.

Weymouth and GG Grant are both wholecuts, but the Aintree is a 3-eye blucher and the RLPL Grant is a monk.

It's a bit of apples and oranges, but between the Weymouth and the GG, I would vote C&J because it is nice enough for 70% the price.

it depends what you currently have.

IMO, the GG Grant and RLPL Grant are in a league that is better than the CJ's (not necessarily by much, it depends who you ask, and depends whether you care or can appreciate the slight difference). I'm not in love with the Weymouth as everyone else is. If I were to post in the what does SF overrate, it would probably be that shoe.

which one do you like best? I don't follow convention. Out of the shoes I own, I don't even have a basic black or brown cap toe bal. I bought the the RLPL Grant in black before that.

Yeah, they are all different. I already have shoes in each of these styles, but I am adding more elegant ones of each style. Which do you find more practical/important to a man's collection?

I am trying to find the RLPL Grant in black online, because the salesman people at the polo mansion are racist as ****. (I am asian) Any ideas of where I can find it online?

If I get the GG Grant, I won't be wearing it at all. Lol, but it is by far the most important contribution to my collection as it is one of the most elegant, well-priced, and masterfully-crafted shoes out there in my opinion.

I'd get the G&G Grant before I paid retail for the RLPL Grant.

Personally, I would go with the G&G. It looks fantastic in about every way. My next choice would be the RLPL, which is a very nice looking shoe monk. Something to think about, though. If you are willing to spend $1000 on the G&G's, you could spend a little more and get the Jermyn ll from John Lobb, which is, imo, nicer than anything listed.

Ugh, John Lobb is the nicest of all in style, but I think their quality is sub-parr.

I have the Weymouth and think it stands just fine on its own. I would have loved to get the G&G, but not for nearly twice the price (considering the usual P.Lal pricing for CJ handgrades).

To Nonk (but it appears 3 posts beat me to it while I was typing), Gaziano and Girling. Tony Gaziano used to work at Edward Green and designed the 888 last for them.


RLPL Grant. It is the most versatile of the choices and can be worn with jeans to suits. For the opposite reason I would eliminate the Aintree. If I remember correctly, it is a blucher and therefore would not be as versatile.

The Grant is about $1,000, give or take, and you can't get it online right now because Polo.com doesn't have it. I know you said you don't want to go into the mansion, but you're in NYC, so...

OTOH, the falling pound has made G&Gs a relative bargain--something to think about.

I don't own any, but the consensus seems to be that John Lobb quality is anything but sub-par. You may want to reconsider.

I've seen grensons with better quality and less flaws when I compared shoes at the NY JL store and PS's Phineas Cole lines. Their styles are great, but I think because Hermes owns them, their QA isn't always guaranteed.
