Hi, I am looking for a heavyweight worsted with a luxury smooth hand. P&B Universal seem rough and workhorse-like to me. What is the heaviest cloth for drape etc, while still being a luxury cloth..more for style and drape, than longevity? I assume that heavier cloths are not widely produced...so, I suppose the availability is limited and should not be hard to get to the bottom of it.
Am I limited to 16 oz H.L....?.....I am open to be persuaded about Universal, by the way.
thanks, Rowly

I don't really have much use for luxe cloth, but there does not seem to be anything coarse about Lesser 16 or Smith Whole Fleece 15. The latter is probably a little finer.

Thanks for the reply. When I say luxury, I don't mean high supers tissue paper. I want quality English suiting with a good old world class in drape and appearance. I have a black pinstripe swatch from Harrisons Fine Classics, which looks and feels good...I got the same pattern in Oyster, which has better weight, but feels a little coarser...then I got the P&B Universal, which has superb weight, but feels quite rough. It's so difficult to imagine a finished suit from a swatch...what I'm trying to find is the cloth which has the best compromise between weight, and still have a beautiful look and hand. Do the Oyster and Universal make up like this...or should I max out at the Lessers 16 oz?
Thanks, Rowly.
