Haiku always have a seasonal reference, otherwise they are technically called Senryu (川柳) and should have an ironic twist.

    A haiku (more or less):

    春雨や
    俳句の戦争は
    びっしょりじゃ

    A light spring rain falls
    The haiku battle is on
    And drenched to the skin

    A senryu:

    インスピレーション
    ないことないが
    これ書いた

    Inspiration
It's not that I lack it, but
    Still, I wrote this

Regardless of the pro/con haiku battle, you must know that I really appreciate this one. I write alot, by hand, with a dip pen, and it is a very important process to me -- weeping tears is an apt analogy. I have written it out, and have put it under the glass that protects my desktop.

    Thanks,
    Huntsman

    My phone rhymes remote;
but your lines are sent by post
    coming in fourth-class.
