Looks like there's a new version out. V2 seems very popular here, but nothing for "2.5"

What do you guys think?

The one with the band around the sole is version 2.5.

Personally I really like the clean look of the V2, but the v2.5 seems a bit more balanced design wise.

...Stick with the original "Made in France" versions, they still pop up on Ebay now & again...Adidas always mess up their re-issues and the Stan Smith is no different, toe-box is too bulky and it hasn't got the overall streamlined effect of the original (could be said for most of their re-issues)...

Ugly. Get the Stan Smith Vintage ones or go home. The vintage model have superior leather, a slightly offwhite sole and a much better overall appearance. It's worth the extra money IMO. Check ebay to get them slightly cheaper. There used to be a guy selling a bunch about 25% off retail but i'm not sure if he still does it.

Anybody else like these? I've always had a thing for gray sneakers.

Stick with the original, one of those timeless classics that shouldn't be messed with.

Necro bump....

Question for the experts:

Since it is sneaker season, I am in the market for a pair of white sneaker and have my eyes on the Stan Smith.

What is the difference between the current Stan Smith on the market?

From what I noticed, one comes with padded tongue and the other one with stitched tongue. What I can noticed is that the pair with the stitched tongue appears to be more vintage looking and with yellow-ish sole. Other than that, I wonder if there's any other difference?
