  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

I wish I knew the story or history of these boots, but I only know that I picked them up at a rural WI vintage clothing store last summer because they were too cool to pass up, then put them in the back of my closet for eight months. The soles are leather and have a "Made in Sweden" sticker, as well as a "46 A" stamp. Normally, I'd imagine that was the size, which would be a 9 1/2 Narrow in US sizing. They fit my 12D feet just fine, though, so the stamp must stand for something else. If they're military boots, maybe it's related to that. I honestly don't know.

The uppers are leather and olive-colored canvas, and I'm sure the scuffs would buff out with a little attention and some oil. One of the pull-tabs has torn at the top, but that's the only damage - the metal eyelets are all in great shape and there are no missing or broken stitches. The footbeds are lined with a very heavy-gauge insulated material. Finally, both inner ankles have the number 42 punched out of the leather as well, and there is a small royal crown embossed next to the punched area.

Since these are so unique, I'd like to get $75 shipped for them (+$7 Canada, +$15 international). Feel free to make offers, though. Paypal (to [email protected]) is preferred, and I can ship them the day after payment clears.

46 is the size. 46 = 12 US, 11½ UK.
