I say drop the shoes, or take a phone picture of them once you're out of the house.

I say just stop being such a massive fanny about it.
Do the shoes come off before crossing the threshold?
Are they then inserted into hazmat bags before coming into the house? (Done wearing disposable rubber gloves?)
Then the whole process in reverse before leaving the house?
Yeah I get it. Shoes carry germs. Guess what? So does EVERYTHING else.
I get where you & your wife are coming from Clags. I use indoor slippers most of the time.
Shoes do come off before crossing the threshhold. Most if not all Korean houses have a separate area for that just adjoining the door. Ours has an inset floor to ceiling cabinet to store the shoes. We even have a nice bench/stool for taking shoes off and a 50cm shoe horn for putting them on (which for me is a little pointless since all my shoes are laced, but loafers are very popular here, as is leaving your shoes tied and just slipping them on and off)
And while all things carry germs, few things are in constant contact with the ground which, outside of being covered in germs, is also just plain filthy.
So. You know. A tradition that makes a lot of sense. Or making ianiceman happy on the internet.
Stitchy and Butchy get it; that's why they can give me **** about it.
