We are not a shoes-free house at the moment, but we're about to embark on a remodel which will include a bench by the front door with nearby shoe storage. Anyone with children will see the advantages of such an arrangement, regardless of culture. Sand, dirt, the rubber dirt from the artificial turf fields...

SB - when we built our house we intended for it to be shoe free. In the end it just did not turn out to be practical or realistic, but it would've been nice and our carpets would be much cleaner.
I had a spring version for the challenge but given that it was below freezing last night I went for a winter take on the challenge.

Damn it. All the Fox PR pictures have them looking all jovial and shit. Maybe it's CNN that always has their pundits looking very serious, arms crossed, like they mean business.
