That's my answer then! Of course, I have the usual shepherd's check, glen plaid, black and navy grenadines etc. but I usually think of soporific ties as being not too busy, repetively small-patterned silks with a minimum of colour variation. And I really don't have any of those amongst my 50-odd ties. So I guess I don't have a proper entry for this challenge...

I think all posts so far would qualify, but some were superiorly soporific, others, not as much.
