Hello to everyone! I'm a brand-spankin'-new member, so please bear with me on this query.

I own 3 pairs of lightly used Ralph Lauren English benchmade shoes that don't fit me quite right. One is a burnished brown and white "lawn shoe" with a rubber sole (size 13), the second is a choc brown monkstrap (size 13), and the third is a burnished pigskin lace-up with a rubber "button" sole (size 12).

My question is this: is there a market for this stuff on eBay and what kind of prices can I expect, or should/can I post some pics in this thread and just give them away to some needy "sole"?

there's definitely a market--put crockett and jones in the title and ship to the uk. you'll be able to sell them for a fairly substantial amount of money. you can also try selling on the buying and selling forum.

You can try selling them in the "buying and selling" thread, but people may be reluctant to buy from a new member. I'd try e-bay. Start the bidding low (just my advice), and be sure to include a picture of the soles of the shoes, and the interior (heel area). Those are the best shots, other than the standard, to see how worn the shoes are.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll try selling them in the "buying and selling" thread and include pics. Can you suggest recommended pricing? The lawn shoe is like new and the pigskin has had a moderate amount of use. Thx

trying to post some images of the shoes...please chime in on what you think their value might be. Both pair retail for around $600.
Many thanks

Honest answer - the pigskin is nice, but definitely has seen wear. I'd put it at approx $50-75 (with the high-end being a stretch).

The lawn shoes are intriguing, but one would have to have a lot of courage to pull them off - the darkness of the brown leather makes them a high-contrast, attention-getting item. And while I can't tell for sure, the toe looks a bit inelegant. You'd definitely want a few more photos to seal the deal with these. They are cool, though, clearly from an old-school RL season - have you had them for a while and not worn them?

Anyhow, the pricing for the lawn shoe - maybe $80 to start (at least with this crowd - but we're a tough audience) and see if you get a bite. You might do better on Ebay with the zoot-suiters/swing dancers. They don't look used, which is a pro, but I don't what this style of shoe normally brings. Check out the specs on a few Ebay auctions and see what they go for, and price with that in mind.
