Piven has been in a lot of different shows / films before finally making it "big" on entourage

my favorite example is Willam Dafoe in The Hunger - he's on screen for about 3 seconds and doesn't speak a word

Tim Robbins in Top Gun. Last scene as an extra fighter pilot. This will be the last time admitting to have seen top gun.

Piven was best friends with John Cusack growing up. He's in practically every Cusack film from the mid to late 80's including One Crazy Summer, Say Anything and Grifters. They all came before Singles or Seinfeld.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned George Clooney on The Facts of Life.

In the Seinfeld episode where Jerry sits in first class with the attractive woman:

Terry O'Quinn (Johne Locke on LOST) sits behind Jerry. He has a black moustache. I couldn't believe such a random spotting on syndication the other day....

Her ass was bigger back then, she was on the heavy side.

The original Death Wish has Christopher Guest as a cop and Jeff Goldblum as a ******.

Sly Stallone was a random subway hooligan in Woody Allen's Bananas.

Speaking of Singles, Pryzbylewski from The WIRE also has a small part in that one.

Random, shirtless, and mildly disturbing Piven appearances in a Paul Westerberg video for a song from the Singles soundtrack (00:59, 01:24!, 01:48, etc):

Can you count clooney? He's from hollywood royalty, not like he just fell of the bus from Nebraska.

Marilyn Monroe has like one line in a party scene as a ditzy blonde in All About Eve.

How did this turn into a Piven thread?

Actually, PCU and it also featured a short-haired David Spade as the head of the other (bad) fraternity and Jon Favreau as one of the slackers in Piven's house.

The George Clinton/Parliament appearance in that movie is great!

Gave me a little chuckle as I thought she was probably just some walk in then to a Hollywood casting agency to get that part and then 10 years later would have a pretty regular role on one of the best shows ever.

Who else do you randomly see popping up when you watch 70-90s movies?

Paulie used to have small roles in Woody Allen movies.

Hugh Laurie was an episode of Friends before trying out for the role of HOUSE MD.
