Well you can order them on whatever last you want to as you perfectly well know. I am just saying that the issue of construction seems moot compared to that of which last you prefer. However, EG do keep stock of certain models and you can avoid the upcharge that comes with a custom order if you are happy with the standard lasts used for them.

Where can one find these shoes in US/NYC? From the pictures, the Rothschild looks sharper and then the Inverness.

You mean where can you get G&G? You have to special order them on one of the company's routine trips to the United States. The next one I believe is in about 5 months.

I'll vote for Inverness as well. I own the Inverness in dark oak on the 888 and it is far and away my favorite shoe to wear. Super versatile -- I wear it with everything from cordoruys to Italian suits. It is a true chameleon. Pair it with a Super 150s suit and it looks dressy. Pair it with cords and it looks more casual.

I'll say this: I've never felt that the shoe looked out of place with my outfit.

Seems like the Inverness on the 888 is very popular. How does the 888 last fit in terms of length and width?

I wear a 9.5D on the Alden Plazza Last and a 9.5M on the Martegani 3B last. Would that translate to 9.5 D for the 888 or would it be 9.5 E? (I am not near any dealer that sells EG).

No, it's really about full boruge vs. blind brouge. IMO, the Malvern looks downright stodgy compared to the Inverness. (Not, that I don't like stodgy, hey I buy AEs.)
