I got weird spam/virus-like messages yesterday on Facebook. Now it seems to be over. My local news had a teaser about a virus on Facebook, but I wasn't able to catch the story. Anyone know what, if anything, happened?

Happened to me yesterday. The virus infected my computer even though I canceled the download.

My wife's computer was infected. Then she made the mistake of bringing it to Geek Squad for a fix. (WTF was she thinking!) $350 and two days later (for "rush service") still no fix.

Umm, how is this even an issue. Any time you get a private msg from someone that says something stupid and provides an external link, don't open it. It's common sense.

It's Facebook though. Every private message is stupid.
