did anyone notice this tidbit about 12-year-old designer damian finch? it gives us a look at his f/w '09 collection and is complete with unaffected comments by the apparent prodigy.

it was also picked up by teen vogue, and is going be carried in stores like odin and south willard.

...it was an april fool's joke

Is Ryan talking about you Jet?
Ryan Conder, who owns the Los Angeles men's boutique South Willard, is also impressed. "This being L.A., I don't end up buying a lot of tailored clothing, but I think Damian's stuff is going to resonate with the West Coast guy," he says. "To be honest, too many guys out here dress like they're 12."

I think almost everything from his lookbook looks rediculous. Number 3 is OK, if not my style, and the shirt on 4 is fine, though nothing note-worthy. Other than the kid's age I don't see why anyone would even take a second look at this.

I took all of this as just another April Fool's joke. Those drop crotch pants remind me of the ones from the CDG x H&M collection last November.

The looks are not bad, but they don't really stand out. Judging purely from those five looks, it looks like he took every major trend from that past few years - shrunken blazer, check, white and colored jeans, check, quilted vests, check, dropped crotch, check, highwater pants, check (I'll give him props for highwater dropped crotch pants - very next level), checked shirts, check, striped sweaters, check, and came out with goth ninja preppy. Of course, the kid is 12, but he wants to be judge on the same level as everyone else, right? My question is - how rich are his parents?
