Here is a very cool pair of shoes. I find them interesting in that we can see what an Owen-Elmes box looked like. It is the first I have seen. Secondly, the shoes date to the early 70's, and were built my McHale especially for Owen-Elmes (the coding is 100% McHale along with the early 70's black soles). This indicates that the relationship between Owen-Elmes and McHale lasted at least 20+ years, with Owen-Elmes having McHale build a series of unique high quality make-ups. These actually look like a cool shoe. They are on eBay somewhere.

Not to turn this into a sales thread
Just going to put it out there that today is free shipping Tuesday with Canada Post
I'll gladly unload any of my for sale items for way less than I have posted online (most of the finds I've posted in here are available)
PM me if interested to keep the thread clean

These 1960's Hartt long wing gunboats are listed on ebay right now. Vendor lists them as a size 12, but they are 10D. Fair price. $75 or best offer. If they were half a size bigger I would grab them. I don't recall seeing this long wing style before. They are in very good nick. Vintage Canadian long wings are rather rare, with the exception of the McHale Florsheim.

Here's a fairly old pair to find in a thrift store that I came across recently from a rarer Canadian manufacturer. I rarely find anything older than the 1980s in thrift stores.

These were made by MacFarlane Lefaivre LTD for a store called Kennell's Shoes. I believe they are from the late 1950s or 1960s. I like the unusual circular tip design in black leather and suede, circular tips aren't a very common style.

Unfortunately they are far too small for me to wear, I can't even get my foot half way into them. The leather has some scuffs and marks while the suede is a bit dirty, I haven't done anything to clean them up yet. I will post more "after" photos of them once I have.

Interestingly Kennell's Shoes still exists, making it the first shoe store whose name I've found in a pair of old shoes that hasn't gone under since the shoes were sold.

The 570 code seems to represent a size 7 E which is an uncommon wide width for the era.

I wish they were my size too, I want to wear them! I was excited when I first saw them but my face kind of dropped once I saw the size.

I was planning to sell them eventually since I can't wear them. I don't have anything set up for selling as of now, but I do have a small collection of shoes I bought at thrift stores that I am planning to sell at some point. Hopefully in the new year I'll be able to get that set up.
