What do you guys think about Modernica vs Herman Miller fiberglass Eames chair? Modernica is a little cheaper and has lots more color options.

Have anyone of you tried mixing and matching colors like this?

I purchased the Modernica chairs before Herman Miller re-released their fiberglass versions. I have been very happy with them and would not hesitant to purchase them again.

My partner’s colleague has been developing a planter with an integrated water catch. We asked him to make a bigger one in MC60 claybody to replant our overgrown Madagascar Dragon Tree. The palm is eight feet tall for context!

I like my Modernica thin edge a lot, although I’ve noticed that the backboard is not as stable as I would like it to be.

Have the neighbors complained?

I’m having one of those moments when you see something in an auction listing and you go wait...that can’t be right...if that description is accurate it’s worth 100x what they are estimating...

In this case an exceedingly rare state of a fairly uncommon and very collectible book, and the description is totally silent on the rarity.

I’m definitely bidding, but I think I’ll go by the auction house and see what is what.

Any bed recommendations? I really like the Nelson thin edge, particularly in walnut and cane.

I love the look of this bed and tried to get my wife to buy it. She refused because she didn't care for the use of walnut veneer. She said it looked and felt cheap. (I still liked it and wanted to buy it.) So make sure you see it in person before pulling the trigger, in case you're like my wife. We ended up having a solid walnut bed made by a maker we found on etsy that had a design we liked. Both of us were pleased with the result.

Thuma beds look nice and rather inexpensive for solid wood. There's a couple months wait though.

I asked a furniture maker here what it would cost to build something similar.

Thanks. That looks pretty neat, plus it seems to be about an inch taller than the Nelson, which is taller than a lot of the other modern beds, which is a big plus for me.

The headboard might be the weakest link (design-wise)... Hard to say without seeing the fabrics in person, of course.

That bed seems like it’s what the Nelson and other case study furniture was supposed to be. I wish I had known about it before we got our bed.
