CptJeff- thats the dumbest thing I've ever read... I know a white man worth over 500 million who listens to Jay-z and Tupac... and I know a black man who likes the Beatles more than life it self.

There was this black intern a few years back that we had. She had no idea who the beatles were. At the same time I didn't know any of the new music she liked despite being closer to her age than of the people who knew of the beatles in their prime.

My dad was in Arkansas on business and had a pregnant clerk at a grocery store tell him she was naming her daughter Layla. My dad replied, "Oh, so you must be a big Eric Clapton fan." She had never heard of Eric Clapton or heard the song Layla. She was actually devastated to know that she and her husband didn't make up the name on their own.

On a related note DerekS thought that dubstep was a female performer, so I suppose it takes all kinds...

I don't own any RL precisely because of this thread: too much confusion around what is the good stuff and cheap stuff and all that. Green label, purple, black? WTF is this, some sort of color coding **** you'd find at a menu at some fast food joint.
I want the path of least resistance when it comes to buying signifiers of wealth when it comes to clothing.

Why don't you learn? Your status says "senior member", you should already get this by now, IMO

Lol.... Layla is a pretty common name, especially amongst Middle Easterners and Arabs though they may spell it Leila as well.

Haha true. Probably the only person who cares or knows what colour the label is, is the person wearing the garment. Unless one does some crazy HermesMan type stunt and wear the thing inside out or something.

MikeDT, you do know it's not about the color, right?

Music is all about personal taste. And should we be referring “African Americans” as “Black” ? I wonder what types of music Barack Obama likes !:satisfied:

Not that I give two ***** about most political correctness, but black is the preferred nomenclature in North America.

I wouldn't hire someone who did not know (genuinely) who the Beatles were. Not because I am a big fan, but because to me this signals a cloistered mind.
