I've bought from these guys before. They have some alright stuff, though they lean toward the "classic shoe in outlandish colors" side, rather than the Y-3, otherwise designer, or really limited edition side. They have some sweet Onitsuka Tigers  though. Any opinions on the Converse low slip-on? I'm skeptical. Gimmicky, sure, but a neat idea.

The Converse slip ons were taken from Varvatos, who based them off an old preppy look, If you want to wear your Chucks without laces, by all means do so. But faking the look is just stupid.

Onitsukas are pretty played at this point, unfortunately. I blame Kill Bill.

If you're alright with a lot of other people having the same stuff you have, then by all means go for it. The underlying design is cool.

Go online and look for wierd or limited edition colorways if you want something a little different.

it's cool that the carry the bjorn borg diadoras. to me, diadora makes the best tennis shoes and soccer cleats.

the adidas nastase models they have are also available at the adidas company stores, for the same price.

fyi there is a friends-n-family sale happening this weekend at footlocker, champs, and footaction. they carry onitsukas, maybe some others of interest. the sale is for 30% off. footlocker champs footaction something tells me these stores are all owned by the same company. just a wacky hunch.

Does anyone know how the Onitsukas run in terms of size? Is it similar to Nike?

Nikes are wider (in general) than most classic Asics.

I just bought a pair of Mexico 66s (i know, behind the curve) but I love them. They look a little small on the feet because of the low profile, but I find them true to size. I wear 10 in shelltoes and pumas, 9.5 in adidas samba, I take a 9.5 in the tiger. If your'e feeling adventurous they have a limited edition embroidered dragon model on sagesports.com.

re: Chuck slip-ons. if I were to go slip-on, I'd go Vans. I think the Chuck's without laces look weird. Plus part of the charm of the Converse is the close proximity of the eyelets that create that nice web of shoe string.

Yeah, that. I've seen them in person. Okay, but really not worth the price ($125-150, depending on location.)
