The sound of that G Body 911 was glorious, it brought me instantly to the music the 246 Dino made. Raw perfection without any gimmicks

That video brings back memories. My first experience with an Italian sports car was a ride in a 246GTS. I was about 10 years old and my parents took us to a local BMW, Ferrari, Chrysler/Jeep dealership so that my dad could look at a 5 series and and an e24 6 series. A guy was pulling out of a parking space in a 246GTS (the top was off), and my mom asked him if he would take me for a ride in his car (we had no idea, who he was, and today that would probably get her charged with child endangerment). He was actually the sales manager and he was going to help someone up the road who had locked their keys in a car. He had traded in his Porsche 928 for the 246 (that was back in the days when the GTS version was a mere $35-40K). That ride was practically a religious experience for me . I still have great memories of that day.

Slightly more enthusiastic about the 992 GT3 after seeing that video, but still have 0 urge to buy one. Also doubt the final product is going to look much different, despite what AP says.

Henry Catchpole with a nice scoop.

info here is very encouraging. The specs don’t point to any clear downsides. And the Speedster engine, ITB, slightly higher power, same weight, multi link suspension, larger brakes, hints at improved aero - all these are good things. I know some don’t like the increased size of the 992, but with that comes a wider track, so at least you get a performance benefit from it.

fitting the car with the Cup 2R tires is a cheat code and probably the reason why Andreas is grinning widely when he hints at Ring times. Someone will have to run the 991 on the same tires to get an apples/apples comparison.

Andreas saying that the wing, bumpers and diffusers are not in final form is probably the best news in this video. Those, along with the flat paint on the hood outlets were my least favorite parts of the car. If those will look different then that might be good news. (PS - the swan neck wing looks pretty good on the 718 clubsport)

still TBD: the drive, the sound (need GPF delete pronto) and the price. Andreas is saying “trust me” on the first two and he’s certainly earned my trust so far. So sure, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm intrigued but the video showcases some vehicles that are amazing. The green 911R is so stunning. IMO the dark blue Porsche colors are stunning. Perhaps I'm biased, I like dark blue.

Incidentally, from the last track day of the year from the event photog (Nov 8). She caught me leaving my parking spot. This group, MassTuning runs things much differently than SCDA (a larger, longer running and a bit more established organization).

MassTuning runs three groups, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Each group gets a 20 min session every hour, so it's a lot of track time. Three sessions from 9-11AM, then another four sessions in the afternoon from 1PM-4PM. I skipped the last 440PM session as it was already getting dark but $249 for over 2 hours of track time is quite reasonable.

Love seeing this old RHD Mini on the track.

I was thinking today while cycling that an XC90 T8, with a Polestar tune and the air suspension, could easily be the One Car.

Seriously considering this in wagon format. It’s a bit more expensive than I was thinking for a care but definitely doable. I like the idea of stealth performance, it’s AWD, and all that space...
Right now I'm debating between a new E63S AMG or a used AMG GTC.
