C&J 348 E, Carmina Rain EE, what else?

I'm trying to find other brands and lasts that I might fit. Buying online in the blind is expensive, so is having to take a plane to try proper quality shoes.

So I'm asking in here.

C&J 348 E fits me very well. However, in the future I would like shoes that aren't as long and pointy as those.

Carmina Rain EE also fits me pretty well and they feel snug as I walk. Two things though, they are slightly higher in the vamp than the C&J 348's, and I have a low instep, so there is some extra room here causing extra bending of the leather. Also, in the heel area, on the outside of my feet, between the ankle bone and the edge of the shoes, there is a gap.

Any users of these lasts in here that can guide me towards alternatives? Perhaps also towards some loafers. I've tried the 348 Mertons, but they felt loose and my heel was slipping.

I'd be interested in exactly the same input! Flat feet, have both Rain and 348!

I haven't tried Simpson, but general advice is its too narrow?

For some, yes, for some, no. The Simpson is the best fitting OTR last I have found (followed by TG73). Curiously enough, I was sized up in 348 compared to a Simpson, so everyone is different.

Try a Uetam if you're looking for a loafer last. Cheaney 11525 could work, but the vamp might be too high for you.
