Wow, the site for htleather referred to above looks like they make really nice, classic traditional cases for not too much money. Has anyone owned one who can describe their experience?

Thanks!

I've had some contact with Henry via email regarding the briefcase I mentioned above. Seems like a nice gentleman, I'm currently awaiting leather swatches before I will decide upon a purchase.

That looks nice, but where did you get the list price?
What's the material and what's the history with Clematis?

No experience whatsoever. Just Googled Clematis Ginza. Found the bag on Ethan Desu's tumblr.

Has anyone looked at Lotuff and Clegg? Now they've become two separate companies (Lotuff Leather and Frank Clegg) but they have some really nice briefcases that are American made.

Since you brought up Lotuff, I'll say that I've been drooling+dreaming of two of their offerings:

Off topic, but worth seeing - Leather Trunk Duffle:

My English Briefcase from Lotuff-Clegg is wonderful. Frank Clegg was real cool about accommodating some personal requests, too.

A bit too light for business use, IMO. Shape is very nice.

That is better, and it should darken with age.

Design wise, the square stitching is not for me, but that is a minor gripe.

The problem is it is not gonna fit your standard lunch box- you will need a specially designed thin flat lunch box! And forget about stuffing a retractable umbrella in that, it will go all out of shape.

Box of cigarette should be in your breast pocket- from an ex-smoker.
