My Massdrop/Edmond Allen Chukka boots arrived today. Not bad. Not as elegant as some of the other recommendations, but a fraction of the price.

Polished my 4-year-old cognac shell Alden Indy.
The colour on the shoe box is cognac but I believe it is the same as whiskey because I bought these in a boutique in french-speaking Lausanne, for reference color8 was labeled as bourdeaux there.
I really enjoying wearing them and it is one of my favourite beater pair. They have aged/darkened quite well and now the colour is close to ravello.

Whatever it is they look great - are they resoled? That looks pretty beefy for an Alden welt...

They look amazing to be 4 years old! Much rather have pre-worn over new ones!! Look and fit better usually!!

Actually no as they are with indestructible all-weather sole. Regrading the welt, I think it is just a exclusive model for the alpine country, lol!

Nice - I like!!
thanks. I had the shop altered the patina of the pair from the stock orange (yes! a stock orange patina boot) to an almost black one. Told them this line: "black for the most part, but leave a few light patches so some who paid enough attention would realize it was once orange". The result wasn't quite what I envisioned, but I have come to really enjoy it.
boot and patina, all for $200 total so it wasn't any to complain about really.
