So, erm... how are Shipton & Heneage able to sell shoes made by Cheaney at £20/£30 cheaper than the manufacturer and shoes by Crockett & Jones £70/80 less than the manufacturer? Also, why have I only just heard about this company? :-/

Indeed . However , the two pairs of Pennine’s I have purchased arrived in a plain box , without Cheaney branded shoebags . The boot soles and pull tabs are branded Cheaney whilst the insole is branded S&H , I actually quite like the plain insole branding . I picked these up with a 10% discount on rrp , great value .

Well, if they are like Iron Rangers, break-in is a while (had mine 2.5 years and just now getting there)

I've had IRs and these are different. The leather is a bit softer, but there isn't really much movement in the shape of the toe box. I'm wondering if it might just be easier to take them to a cobbler and have them stretched half a size.

Possibly, or Amazon a shoe stretcher and do it yourself.
