Seeking guidance from the boot enthusiasts:

If you were looking for a single pair of boots that could be worn with slacks or jeans (non Alden and Allen Edmonds) what would you suggest? Say $500 or less.

I'm currently looking at:

Crockett & Jones Skye 3
Meermin - seems like it might be a good "gateway" boot. They have a couple that look decent.
Yanko - Patine.pl appears to have a decent selection.

Other suggestions?

I'm not looking to swing for the fences and go all in with a pair of Vass Shell Cordovan (although that would be nice). I'm just looking for something I can wear with anything to work or dinner. I purchased a pair of dirt cheap wing tip boots from JC Pennies and pretty much wore them to death. I figure it's time to move up!

How about a pair of EG Galways in a size UK7? ;)

Alden MTO shell Indy additional specs on this motorcycle boot

Black shell
Hooks
Hand stitched vamp
preferred last is trubalance
Double leather or waterlock
No detail side stitching or stitch
360 welt or 270
agetine eyelets. or none

Proposed specs fitting the 405 Indy, but minor aspects have not been detailed yet.
The idea is to make an offer to the forum, as spots have been filled, it is first come first serve.
Additionally, to offer the width selection missing in other Alden GMTO, because many on here have trouble getting wide or narrow boots. So this is their chance

PM if interested in making this happen

@smc558 I am going to guess that the " Shoe Bank" means the Allen Edmonds "Shoe Bank" . It is an online outlet that catalogues all the shoes and boots [as well as belts] from Allen Edmonds that were Factory Seconds. These products are said to have mostly minor cosmetic blemishes that did not pass the Factory Inspection. However they are still said to be highly wearable most of the time. The company labels them as Seconds, marks them with a heavy discount and sends them to different shops and outlets. All these items are listed in the Shoe Bank website with details about their location. You can buy them from shoe-bank with much less money than you would otherwise spend.
Many say that they have got great deals out of this while some say they got sub-par products for the price. The consensus seems to be that it is somewhat of a gamble but worth taking.
Lastly here is the link.......http://www.shoebank.com/
Happy Fashioning to you.

Lots of nice looking boots, but many should be posted in STREETWEAR & DENIM. :puzzled:
