I used to use this thing called Ice Spiker by Joico it was glue-like in texture and worked really well for shorter hair.

now my hair is longer (not by much though just not short enough to get that messy texturized look) and i cant use the glue thing anymore due to the new length

any recomendations? ive heard good things about Kiehls grooming creme but i tried it and honestly it doesnt give my coarse hair enough hold

I use Sharps Guck-in-a-Puck. I can't stand looking at people who look like they have greasy, brittle hair, and I don't like the look on myself nor do I want something that changes the consistency of my hair. This product is perfect. Not a lot of hold but gives your hair a lot of texture and manageability.

hey cali, i also have really coarse hair too and Kiehl's Silk Groom IS a great product but i think you're expecting it to do things it doesn't do.

for me, i use it more as a prep. i put about a nickel sized in my towel dried hair and it helps smooth everything out and make sure when it dries that i dont have frizz. it makes my hair really soft and maneagble. if you're trying to the messy bedhead look you need a paste or a wax that use inconjunction with Silk Groom

I keep on saying this but Gatsby Moving Rubber line hair products are Awesome! The kind I use is like "Spikey Something" and its actually made for medium length hair, they have some that offer even better hold for long hair but my hair isnt that long yet. Anyways, the great thing of this product is I can reshape my hair as needed, it wont flake out.
