Might have been related to his massive weight loss for The Machinist, then his massive weight gain for Batman Begins, followed by a more minor weight loss for the same movie. Apparently he showed up way too big for Batman Begins and had to lose mass quickly. Couldn't have helped wardrobe

Dammit. Does that mean I have to stop liking it now?

Yeah it was good (even though I still kinda wish Darren Arronofsky would've directed). Anybody know if there is a sequel planned?

I read part of an interview with Christian Bale - apparently, when he signed on for Batman Begins, he was also contractually committed for a sequel, and he's happy to do it. And I've yet to encounter anyone who disliked the movie, so chances are pretty good.

What does everyone think of the hint of the next villain at the end of the movie?

Not bad, although it'll be hard to top Nicholson... What about the entire vat of acid thing?

They need Egghead or False Face. Or Shame.

great movie.

i'd like to see them do soemthing based on "Arkham Asylum" for the next Batman since it seems obvious the Joker will be involved.

rumor i heard was they were just going to re-make the first two Batman's with a modern twist for parts 2 & 3 with Bale.

Just saw it. Good film, but not great. Katie Holmes, say what you like, but she cleans up real nice.

There's no question that this was heavily influenced by year one. I suspect Frank Miller wasn't involved because he wanted too much money, wanted a hand in the script, and DC didn't want to fund him for doing Sin City. His track record on scripts has been spotty: see Robocop II.

Loved the rumbler, and the use of scarecrow. I think that the slimmer bale might have been a better choice for a different character: Dream.

For myself, the only DC comic I really want to see get made is Watchmen.

Part of me wished David Fincher had directed it. That boy can direct a screwed up movie and Batman -- the character -- is the personification of screwed up.

To add to what Nick M stated, everyone on Batman Begins was signed to a multi-picture deal...with the exception of the newest Scientologist in Hollywood, Katie Holmes.

What the hell? You got me all excited about the possiblity of Watchmen movie, and now you tell me it ain't gonna happen. But, a live action Transformer movie directed by Michael Bay continues? Let's just accept facts that Watchmen movie would be almost too complicated and too intense to pull off as a movie. It would probably work best as a 6 hour miniseries on HBO.

I hated it... it was like a nerd festival. Samurai swords and some ambiguous asian dude high up in the mountains? PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEAAAAAAAAASEEEEE.. The best parts were when Christian Bale bought the hotel, and when he turned into Patrick Bateman and dissed all the socialites.

His voice when he was batman was nothing short of rediculous, trying way too hard. The exocution was amazing, but I stopped liking these movies when I was 12.

Funny, you write like you have the sensibility of a 12 year-old.
