Go TTS, definitely not down. My black Grifters have about 3-4 months' solid wear and they've stretched just enough to conform to my shape a bit, not enough to cover a sizing error.

You better be a skinny bastard if you're considering Rakers. I got some STF, sized up as per Ande's instructions, and these are TIGHT in the thighs. No more upper leg work for me at the gym.

And this is why I will be back for more Andes. I don't lik drastic fades etc. I've had my Cougars for about a year and a half or so and they're still not all worn out looking. a wallet fade and some light fading in the knees is all. they look great and I even wash them every week or 2.

Just ordered a pair of 31X32 Grifters. True measurement on where I wear my jawnz is a 31 with the tape pulled relatively tight, so thinking these will turn out perfect in the waste. I'm slightly below average in height at 5'5" and dress pant inseam is like a 30, so hoping for some cool (not excessive, though) stacking effect. I'm real excited. Will probably post fit pics and **** when they get here.

Ok -- appreciate the advice. Double checked with my momotaro 0701's (which interestingly, post-soak/stretch, have the exact same rises as the 31 rakers), and the waist is perfect @ 31.5. In between sizes, I'm guessing people recommend the higher choice? Probably can get away with either, so I'll be ordering tonight, just wanted to check what people think

I was in between and went down to a 31. They definitely don't stretch much though...

Enough that you have a snug but comfortable fit now, or you would have been happier with the 32?

^^^ Yep, snug but well fitting. I'm glad I went with the 31, but if you plan on picking up a pound or two in the future I would go up to the 32.

I did decide to sell my Grifters (link in signature if you're interested).

Really very nice jeans, some of the cleanest construction I've seen, but they just weren't right for me personally. Alas! I've learned more about what I need to look for, though. Definitely a slightly higher rise for me.

Some roping on the XX-SF from last year. Three washes. Sorry about the lighting camera was about to die.

so i play soccer and do mid distance running and have 22" thighs, but not crazy huge calves. my waist is a little over 33" where i wear the jeans. i get a really nice fit with 31" levi's 514 after they've stretched some. would slackers work for me or should i go cougar?
