I made the American Apparel thread and was told Atlernative Apparel would be a better fit for me. I'm 5'8", 38" chest, broad shoulders, 30" waist. With American Apparel I was told to get a medium but it would probably be too long and tent around the waist. Am I safe with a small with Alt Apparel?

We've been both American Apparel and Alternative Apparel stockists. Alternative tends to fit a slimmer build better in our opinion, especially the "perfect" t-shirts (crew, V, long sleeve). The fleece runs smaller than the AA fleece but is still roomy.

i usually tell people to get the same size in both
i wear medium in american and alternative and i prefer the fit of my alternative shirts more
and i agree with detour, the "perfect" shirt's fit is money

Wow, that's a medium? The chest and the length might be fine, but the shoulder is very narrow. My hanes comforts soft undershirt size small is 16" shoulder to shoulder and it's actually a tad bit small for my shoulders, but I wear it as an undeshirt.

not as far off, 15.5''
and length was the same

so measurements for a medium perfect tee

shoulder 15.5''
chest 19''
length 24''

keep in mind this shirt has been washed and dried a few times
and the fact that it can stretch a lot if needed
