Thanks for the feedback guys!

If you don't mind me asking, what color/brand polish do you use?

Nothing too fancy. I use neutral cream by melatonin and lincoln wax. A couple different shades of brown to help the burnishing. Depends on the mood i am in:slayer:

Seconded. I ordered some matching polish with the brown Cerretos I bought - I assume they're the same color as the Vincis. The polish is branded as AE Seven, but as far as I can tell it's not much different than standard Kiwi or Meltonian. (And it looks like it's been sitting on a shelf for 5 years...) I don't think it matters much as long as you match the color.

Here are the boots I rotate with:
Brown AE Bayfield
Brown suede Santoni Neville Chukka
Black Ferrgamo Giorgio Chukka
Just got my AE Fifth Street in black. Love them.
I feel like I am set for casual boots, and am looking at dress boots. Looking for something in burgundy or a dark brown. I love the Daltons in dark brown, and in walnut shell.

Those Santonis look great. How do you like them?

Question... my brogue suede malvern's are showing up tomorrow, and I don't have any waterproofer, etc. for them yet. How is the quality of the Kiwi Suede set with the combo brush, cleaner, and waterproofer? Good enough, or should I order the waterproofer from AE or by Saphir?

Meltonian Leather and Suede Protector, recommended by Nick at B Nelson. That's what I use.

They are really nice and comfortable. I believe the sole is called a crepe sole. Whatever it is, it is really really soft walking on. Even though its suede and I live in Seattle I wear them as my rainy day boots with jeans. The suede holds up very well.

Raining here today in the northeast, so I'm wearing my brown Bayfields.

Speaking of the Bayfields, I'm seriously considering having them resoled with leather, which would give them a bit lower profile. I spoke to AE and they can do it as a no-cost add-on to the recrafting process.

Did anyone take advantage of the Memorial Day Sale from the Outlet stores? I decided to go with the walnut Strands ($200) instead of waiting for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and hoping that they had them on sale. I got the last pair in 9.5E.

I sprung for the brown kenilworths at 149. Hopefully they are in good shape

This is a great idea! I would suggest getting a low profile Topy's sole protector put on that new leather sole to protect it when the weather isn't so fair. Any good cobbler can do this. You could take them to Sherman Bros. on 14th and Sansom.

So how bad is it really to wear Park Avenues during the rain?

That's like asking, "so, how bad is it to drink alcohol?" One drink, no problem. Twenty drinks . . .

Are you asking because you got caught in the rain or because you want to wear your Park Avenues as your new rain boots?
