Hey guys,

My first post on this thread, and posting some pics. This was my first AE purchase, taking advantage of the Nordstrom's sale.
Love the style, and the fit was superb! Now I understand the happy reviews.

On sale, the shoes were $225, I thought it a great bargain. Is it correct that this model is still made in US? One question:
the sales guy said that AE is now accepting recrafting for soles that are not their own? He said he was talking to someone
at the company. This does not sound right to me. Also, it sounded like Nordstrom offers their own cobbler service, which I would
not really use, but he mentioned it. All rather odd.

Is there a big difference or any at all between the brogue suede and mocha? I see a listing for both.
No clue and don't rely on pictures on the internet as colors can appear different than they are in real life. Why not just inspect the brown suede shoes and see if you like them?

Nice pair, are those Larchmonts? I was just thinking of adding a pair to my collection and I'm wondering how the fit compares to the 5 last.

This is a truly momentous day! After years of hard work, I have finally overthrown KMDSimpson as King of this thread:

I will enjoy it thoroughly for the next week or so before Money Well Spent overtakes me. Don't know how he does it, but, in less than a year's time, MWS has beaten me in both quality and quantity.

Well, looks like I'm done for.

Strandmok and Spiagga were just added to clearance at 2 bills each

Resistance is futile. Now the only question is: structured (strandmok) or unstructured (Spiagga)?

That's an impressive list. I have learned a lot from all of you in the top ten. Keep up the great work!

I was actually just about to let you know about this!

Quote: Thanks for the link- this was actually the one site I did see where they were on sale. Unfortunately, my size isn't available!

Yes, the Neumok sale I mentioned is for any size and any color. And I suspect it will be 35% OFF regular retail. The site www.6pm.com is OWNED by www.zappos.com , and Zappos uses 6pm.com as their online outlet store for overages and items they are no longer going to carry, but the colors and sizes are limited. Still, 6pm.com is a very good site to check out other AE shoes/boots/loafers from time to time.

All my best,

David

David Copeland: The Manager at Nordstrom's Department Store I spoke to the other day personally has 90 pair of high quality brands of shoes for himself. The brand he wears most often when he is on his feet each day are ECCO dress shoes. He recommends them for very, very good comfort - when not wearing Allen Edmonds shoes>

DC:

Are you including Ecco in the high quality brands category.? Not being sarcastic, just curious .....

..
I am including it as a brand that is not only sold by Nordstroms, but was highly recommended by the Manager I spoke to - who wears this brand in a dress version when on his feet each day. He still owns many AE shoes and other quality items . . . but looking at his Echos from a normal view would very seldom spell out an inferior shoe. You may wish to try a pair on, or visit Ecco's web site for many more details about their mission.

Thanks for the question,

David

Congratulations . . . not so much on the number of posts . . . but rather for the quality of your posts, your contributions, and your helpfulness .

Live and in person. Just got the Strandmoks on Saturday! Love the look, and they fit like slippers - unlined soft suede.
