I'm thinking the new Black/White Randolph Penny Loafer will be my first AE Slip-On. Thoughts?

Randolph Penny Loafer | Men's Loafers | Allen Edmonds
I've got a burgundy shell and a bourbon shell. I think the black/white would work very well as a feminine shoe! The velvet too. If I had room for another black shoe, I'd totally consider the black velvet...even more so if it was a Patriot!

I guess I don't need to quote Neo's sizing advice to you! (Randolph are a compromised fit in 11EE and 11.5E for me in different ways)

Traveling home, I got selected for the random security check, which detected potential explosives. So then I had to go through the secondary, more invasive, check. I passed, of course, but the TSA agents were super impressed with my shoes (non-AE Cobbler Union)

I am not a loafers guy but the Randolph in black/white would be a pretty great shoe for clubbing and such.

Non AE question - anyone familiar with the sizing of the Crockett & Jones Pembroke vs Mac Neil? I’m a 9D in the 97 last, I just tried on the Brooks Brothers Peal & Co version in 8.5 D which felt really big. Any experience sizing?

I wear 11.5/12 EEE in Allen Edmonds. My Pembrokes are UK 12.5 E (which is equivalent to somewhere between US D and E). They fit wonderfully.

In boots, I've worn UK 12 e from Crockett and Jones.

Thanks. Perhaps it is a last that will not work for my foot. My heel was sliding out unobstructed but perhaps I will go back and see if they can order an 8. Really nice looking short wing.

It's one of my favourite shoes. I love the grain leather, which is basically impervious to the elements, and the rustic styling.

I wish AE would make more grain leather offerings. The Higgins Mill in grain leather would be a great boot.

I was always a 10D in everything. I sized down and out with AE to a 9.5 E to EEE in a variety of lasts except the 114 when I went back up to a 10 E. My C&J size has pretty much been a (UK) 9E based on sending foot dimensions to C&J and consulting with Bodiley's, so I tended to go with my non-AE size. All 3 Crockett lasts have fit extremely well: 314, 365 and 336.

I assume Brooks Bros. is converting to US sizing, so that 8.5D is a UK 7.5E? And that it still feels big seems odd.
