thank you for your quick anwer. so this is some kind of a cheap version? I guess normally park avenues are full grain leather?

thank you
They weren’t necessarily a “cheap version.” AE used a pretty high quality corrected grain leather. It was easier to maintain a shine on the corrected grain and this was popular when those were produced.

WFH day 10, and I’m wearing one of my most-worn pairs. The brown tumbled grain HMs are underrated.

Also, I recently refinished a belt and shortened it to fit. I went with a mix of reds, browns, and burgundy on this belt. It previously had a worn tannish brown finish.

Thought, ah a larper or renaissance guy. Real question though is how does the leather compare?!? Are you going to recraft with a leather sole??

More renaissance and HEMA than larping. I'll be honest, it's not the highest quality leather, but with Lexol it will last some time! And the soles aren't exactly period appropriate, but not everything needs to be authentic. They replace the soles on these by sanding/grinding down what remains of the current pad, then gluing a fresh one on.

80F yesterday, 50F today. 26F outside currently; my poor cherry blossoms are windblown and frozen stuff.
Salmon chinos and unlined chukkas?

This is great. Looks very Brooks Brothers. We keep oscillating between high 50s and low 70s with random showers in between, but going from 80 to 26 is pretty crazy.

With the risk of offending everyone by my near white socks, here's Moras for a relaxed work from home day. Hanging some pictures, shipping eBay packages, and working on newly arrived jigsaw puzzles.

Got some shipping notifications from AE to be delivered tomorrow - looking forward to goodies!

Hey, Filthy Barnweasels! Long time, no talk.

Hope you're all doing your best to stay healthy during this weird time in our lives. Been WFH since 3/16, so AE wears have been few and far between, especially since a couple of the 6-or-so herniated discs in my back decided to flare up right around 3/21. I had a nice week or so of working from bed. Things are pretty much back to normal (no pun intended), so I figured I'd break out my 2nd favorite pair of AEs to celebrate the normalcy. I'm relegated to the basement while Mrs. Donkey and Lil' Donkey use the office and living room upstairs. Please enjoy the lame basement carpet.
Nice shoes! Hope you stay feeling recouped.

Lol. That's Owen the pug and of course he was around during the food shots, too, just hidden under the table! And yes, he and his "brother" Louie the frenchie are very well-stocked and they thank you for asking. lol. ?

For fans of "A-E In The Wild" pictures, put on a jacket and tie to eSign and eFile my 2019 Income Tax return and then went outside for a while.

For fans of food pictures in shoe threads, there will be food pictures again when restaurants open again.

Not that it protects me worth a damn....just enjoying the fact i can run around wearing it without people thinking i'm a baddie. :hide:

Also it covers the evidence of my being SEVERELY out of regs as facial hair is currently concerned.

Question for the sizing experts. I’m a fairly low instep and low volume 9.5D brannock. This is a pair of dark chili Fifth Avenue in 9E. Do you think this is a good fit, or should I look into a 9D? They don’t feel too tight anywhere. Just not sure if having absolutely zero gap is a good thing if these stretch even slightly.

I would want more of a gap on a brand new pair.

If you're a low-volume D, I don't think you'll stretch those much, if at all.

I don't feel that going down another half size in length or width would make them feel too tight. I guess it's hard to say without being here in person, but which would you recommend if I did exchange for a smaller size? Brannock 9.5D to 9D or 8.5E? Current pair is 9E. I'm guessing that it's the going up a width that is making these too loose, but either would likely solve the issue.
